Fear creates hate.

I am afraid:  of getting ebola, of being killed by a terrorist,  of a police state where our freedoms are gone, of people taking what I have …

That awkward moment when you tell your parents, ‘why, yes, I was listening in church, and didn’t Jesus say …’

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

… love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.

The Lord is my light and my salvation–whom shall I fear?

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
