WE’RE SINGING FOR FREEDOM, WE’RE SINGING FOR PEACE, WE’RE SINGING FOR JUSTICE AND WE’LL SING UNTL WE’VE GOT JUST WHAT WE NEED’.
From Eleanor Brown:
“I woke this morning to this awesome video and smiled so much!! – thankyou ALisa Starkweather, Marsia Shuron Harris, Laney Goodman, Ruth Mendelson Chenoa Malulani Charpentier and ALL OF YOU gathered, for bringing this song alive… I dreamed of all these drums and voices!!!
They are singing in Massachusetts the same day as thousands counter-protest in Boston in solidarity against hate and fear.
They are asking for pledges and donations to the Black Lives Matter movement – please share this video and donate to blacklivesmatter.com – it is an honour for my song to be used in this way, it is what I hope for when I let them fly in the world.
I wrote it in a mega rain and wind storm camped out at the top of a mountain in a tiny tent with just my drum for company. When I write about the inner work it is so that we can do the outer work that is needed.
As well as donating, I’ve made this song available for download so that money (minus bandcamp fee) goes to BLM.
OUR SILENCE IS OUR COLLUSION.
