I can relate. We just bought a home outside of Huntsville in Alabama. My husband does work there, but I was drawn because of all the oak trees, the spring-fed creeks and the half a dozen extensive nature preserves.
First few days there, I am frustrated. Husband almost steps on a snake. They are everywhere. Gar fish. Leeches. Mosquitos. Mosquitos. And more mosquitos.
Amidst so much to do, I escape to the woods and do my best not to let the bugs ‘bug’ me. I think I maybe get 30 seconds where I melt into my surroundings and find peace.
